Overview

This is a three hour private ride run by Rent & Roll, starting and finishing at their shop on Calle de Felipe IV beside the Buen Retiro grounds, right next to the Casón del Buen Retiro. Only your group participates. One group added an unplanned coffee stop in Retiro Park, which they called the highlight of their visit, and another reviewer described establishing their own circuit and stepping away from the purely tourist spots.

From the meeting point the route sweeps past the Fountain of Neptune and the Plaza de Cibeles, then threads through Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. It continues to the Almudena Cathedral museum, the Royal Palace and the La Cebada market, where the stop is longer at 20 minutes, before closing out in the Barrio de las Letras and at the Prado, then riding back to the shop.

A local guide, bike and helmet are all included. What is not included: food and drinks, gratuities, and entry to the Royal Palace. The minimum age is 13, children must ride with an adult, most travellers can participate, and the operator adds cautions for those with back problems and for pregnant travellers.

Royal Palace admission is not covered, so budget for it separately if you want to go inside. One reviewer mentioned a minor hiccup at the start with the electric bikes, though the ride itself went fine. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before start time are not refunded.
